The Kayla Lindsell Team Spirit Memorial Award

May 2025

This Team Spirit Memorial Award is in memory of Mrs. Kayla Lindsell, who was an amazing, hard-working leader in the Drumheller community. Kayla was the office manager, as well as a Canadian certified optometric assistant at For Sight Vision Centre for over 6 years, and showed tremendous endurance and strength to build this local optometry clinic to where it is today. Outside of the clinic, she had taken on the role as the assistant coach of the U17 Girls Club Volleyball team. She was taken far too soon at the young age of 29, but her charisma, charm, and dedication will be remembered through this accolade.

Five hundred dollars ($500) will be sponsored annually by For Sight Vision Centre, and Kayla’s husband, Logan Lindsell, will also be making an annual contribution to the award. This award has no requirement for the student to be heading to post-secondary school. The recipient can apply for or be nominated by another student/teacher, and is to be chosen by the teachers and/or council members that work closest with the graduates. We ask that this student display certain attributes that Kayla stood for.

  • Team spirit/sportsmanship
